The purpose of the job

The IT Technical Intern will help the IT team with routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and technical assistance for network, software, and hardware systems. Supporting end users, fixing technical problems, and learning best practices in IT service delivery are all part of this work, which offers practical experience in a professional IT setting.

Principal Duties

Troubleshooting & Technical Assistance
Help identify and fix network, software, and hardware problems.
Give internal employees first-line technical help, both on-site and remotely.
The company’s ticketing/helpdesk system is used to record and monitor support requests.
Upkeep of Hardware and Software
Assist with desktop, laptop, and peripheral configuration, installation, and setup.
Help with regular maintenance duties, antivirus scans, and software updates.
Assist in keeping track of IT equipment and licence inventory.
Support for Networks and Systems
Assist the IT staff in keeping an eye on the connectivity and performance of the network.
Help with creating new email addresses, user accounts, and access rights.
Acquire and utilize fundamental network troubleshooting methods.
Record-keeping and Reporting
Keep thorough records of all IT configurations, procedures, and incident handling.
Help with the creation of training materials and user manuals for routine IT procedures.

Competencies & Skills

Fundamental knowledge of networking principles, computer hardware, and software.
Knowledge of Office 365, Microsoft Windows OS, and standard business apps.
Strong ability to solve problems and a desire to learn new things.
Strong interpersonal and communication abilities.
The capacity to cooperate with others and follow directions.

Requirements for Education and Experience

Possessing an IT-related qualification, such as a diploma or degree in computer science, information technology, or a similar profession, or having recently earned one.
Fundamental understanding of troubleshooting and IT systems.
Previous volunteer work or internship

This is a learning position that offers practical experience and guidance.

System maintenance or updates may necessitate some weekend or after-hours labor.
