| Job Purpose | The Department of Agriculture, Western Cape Government has an employment opportunity for a competent and qualified individual to manage all farming activities. The successful incumbent must be willing to work after hours as requested. |
| Minimum Requirements | An appropriate 3 year National Diploma/B-Degree (equivalent or higher qualification) in Agriculture; A minimum of 6 months relevant experience; A valid (Code B or higher) driving licence. |
| Recommendation | Relevant experience (Livestock, cropping, grazing, irrigation related); Staff management experience; Experience in maintenance of machinery. |
| Key Performance Areas | Manage natural resources; Manage day-to-day agricultural activities; Implement new and maintain existing infrastructure; Perform all administrative related functions. |
| Competencies | Knowledge of the following: Agricultural related industries; Agricultural related farmin practices and reserach trials; General administrative management Human Resoiurces; Basic financial management skills; Proven computer literacy (MS Office, Internet and Outlook); Communication (written and verbal) skills; Listening skills; Record keeping and filing. |
| Remuneration | R 325 101 – R 382 959 per annum (Salary level 7)Note on remuneration in addition to service benefits or obligations for qualifying employees (medical assistance, housing assistance, pension-fund contributions, etc) are funded or co-funded in terms of the applicable prescripts or collective agreements. |
