Job PurposeThe Department of Agriculture, Western Cape Government has an opportunity for a competent individual to provide clerical support to the Region / District Office. 
Minimum RequirementsGrade 12 (Senior Certificate or equivalent qualification); A valid driving licence (Code B).
RecommendationAppropriate administrative experience.
Key Performance AreasProvide a Reception service; Provide a typing service; Provide office administration; Provide logistical support; Perform administrative and related functions. 
CompetenciesA good understanding of the following: Application of relevant legislation; Working knowledge of systems (e.g. EPS). Skills needed: Written and verbal communication; Interpersonal/Listening; Typing/MS Computer literacy; Organising/Record keeping; Analytical thinking/Problem solving; Negotiation; Ability to work well in a team; Ability to work under pressure; Self-motivated and reliable. 
RemunerationR 228 321 – R 268 950 per annum (Salary level 5)Note on remuneration: Service benefits or obligations for qualifying employees (medical assistance, housing assistance, pension-fund contributions, etc) are funded or co-funded in terms of the applicable prescripts or collective agreements. 
NotesShortlisted candidates will be required to submit documentation for verification purposes and criminal record vetting. These candidates will be required to complete a practical assessment and attend interviews and a practical on a date and time determined by the department and may also be required to undergo competency assessments/proficiency tests. The selection process will be guided by the EE targets of the employing department.
